Work Place Counselling
I have vast experience working as a Workplace counsellor. I offer support to people in organisations across all sectors. While counselling is available on the NHS , the long waiting lists, lack of specialist knowledge and inflexibility of appointment times makes the workplace counselling I provide an attractive option to many employers. We have a team of counsellors to help with your organisations needs.
I am down to earth, forward thinking, solution focused, and easy to talk to. I offer employees, a safe, confidential space to talk about issues that trouble them. I am trained to listen attentively and facilitate them to find their own solutions to problems or develop better ways to manage the issues. It is an invaluable resource for managers, who can refer employees to counselling when they feel unable to help with a more complex or personal problem that an employee is facing.
While work-related issues, including stress, overworking, bullying and difficult colleagues, which can of course directly impact an employee’s performance, personal issues can have a similar negative impact. Experiences such as bereavement and loss, relationship and family difficulties, substance misuse, including alcohol issues, and stresses at home can preoccupy someone’s thinking and distract them from work.
The workplace counselling I offer has often helped employees who are absent from work return to work sooner. There is evidence that counselling can accelerate the rehabilitation of an absent employee, saving the organisation money in the long run.
If your organisation, company or employee assistance programme (EAP) is interested in referring to me on an ad hoc basis, to whom an employee can be referred as and when the need arises. Please contact me for further information.
